Composers in Red Sneakers is one of the oldest continuous composer organizations in the country, and has been one of Boston's leading cultural organizations for 26 years. Recognized in new music communities around the globe, its current and past members are all active, successful composers with national and international recognition.

Sneaker composers and collaborators are cultural advocates socially engaged both among themselves and with the listening public. The strength of the organization lies in the variety of artistic sensibilities and interests of our members, and in the common desire to understand the world around us - and ourselves - through artistic expression. CRS has promoted the work of many young composers on the way to significant careers, produced numerous highly successful recording, publishing and commissioning projects, and reached out to young audiences and performers through educational and community outreach programs in the Boston area.

In their 25 year history CRS has presented nearly 80 concerts, including more than 370 world-premieres by over 500 performers to literally thousands of listeners. CRS stands alone in this regard. Period.
